Creating Magazine Front Cover

Magazine Plan

Main image:
My main image is going to be a mid shot of Kofi Boafo who is a main character in the film trailer. On the front cover he will be wearing a black bomber jacket to connote the type of character he is portraying to the readers this will make him look more like a gang related member and this will help to attract the target audience.
Name of magazine: What are the connotations of the title?
The title of my film magazine is called : TELEFILM I chose this magazine title because I felt that it sounded professional as simple as it is and meaning distance as well as relating television I wanted it to connote a magazine that you can take anywhere and fills you in on all the best films and its insights that the target audience would desire ton watch.
Headline:
The headline on the cover will be the title of the film and this will be placed at the bottom of the page in the centre right underneath the main character in red, due to the dark background and costume used in the magazine the “Bloodline” film title will be in bold red since using the original title will not be properly seen being placed anywhere on the front cover

Sell lines:
My sell lines will include interviews from the characters featured in the film it will also include the top film ranking.
Other info:
I will place the barcode at the bottom of my page in the right hand corner in a horizontal motion so that it doesn’t interfere with and text or sell lines. I will also place my magazine price under my barcode.

This is the image that i have decided to use for my magazine front cover. I feel like this is a conventional image to use to represent the BLOODLINE's urban drama genre.

I chose the city to be the background of my magazine cover because I think that it represents the character well and where he is from in the film.

I then came up with the Magazine title "TELEFILM" which I though would be an appropriate magazine title to represent my urban drama film. I got the idea and was inspired by a number of different "FILM" magazine covers that i had looked at online.

I then used Photoshop to cut out the models body shape so that I could be able to paste it onto my
background and magazine title. I had decided to place my model/character on top of everything to show status and authority that he holds both within the film and in the magazine. This was also an inspiration from the latest film/music magazines that I have recently analysed.

I used movie shots from different films and put them together as a strip under the magazine title which Kofi's character also overlaps showing again that he has authority over other films and showing status of the film and the attention it is receiving in the media. I then used Pixlr again to help me with the professional font to use on my front cover mostly relating to the film "BLOODLINE" that would be featured in the magazine.
