Creating Final Movie Poster

This is my movie poster sketch to show the idea that I had for my movie poster and what I wanted it to look like, my final poster had evidently been altered and changed due to research and analysis. I drew this sketch based on the common urban drama movie posters that usually have a close up of the main character and the movie title at the bottom.

After i had finished with the movie title I used Microsoft publisher to play around with potential places that I could place my title and finally decided that the centre was the most suitable place for it.

I then used Pixlr again to start adding the names of characters and any other text that was going to be on my poster since I was satisfied with the professional fonts that I was able to get from it.

I then downloaded the font to write the movie poster credits and used Photoshop to put it into place. I added the certified age for the film as well as the movie website and the rest of the necessary conventions for a genuine movie poster to make my final draft.

Once i had finished creating my final draft I had asked my teacher and peers for some feedback on the poster and what needed to be added as well as removed to make the poster look more authentic and professional

After the feedback given and re-assessing my work again I had decided to make a few changes. First of all i started by removing the "18" because I thought that it made the poster look more like a DVD cover instead of a poster and added some common social networks in its place. I then made my website lower case and smaller after reviewing other professional movie posters. I enlarged my credits to make it a bit more visible and able to read. I changed "COMING SOON!" into a release date which after looking at posters thought it was more up to date with the posters being created in recent time. To finish it off I added a quote from a movie review so that my poster wouldn't look too empty and was happy with my final result.
